About Lyres
It’s no surprise the non-alcoholic drink space has taken off in the past several years. Younger generations are not drinking alcohol as much as older ones, and lockdown during COVID helped many realize they were drinking more than was healthy.
As a result, many consumers now want the ritual of going out on a Friday or Saturday night, without consuming a lot of alcohol – and Lyres is here to make it happen.
Founded in 2019 in Sydney, Australia, Lyres offers an exquisite range of non-alcoholic spirits, giving people the freedom to drink their drink of choice without alcohol content, whether they’re sober or simply opting for a zero-proof option.
With everything from bourbon and tequila alternatives to no-ABV sparkling wine, Lyres turns your classic favorite libations into no-alcohol options with spirits that taste just like the classics.
Today, Lyres can be found in countless bars as bartenders are making more mocktails than ever, including many of the top 50 in the world, from Dubai to New York and Paris.
We sat down with Lyres’ Ecommerce Director, Danica Quilty, to learn more about how they streamlined their global distribution and tech stack with ShipBob.
Consolidating multiple 3PLs across the world to 1 tech-leading partner that can handle global DTC and B2B orders for us
As told to ShipBob by Danica Quilty, Ecommerce Director of Lyres.

Before we moved shipping and logistics to ShipBob, we were entering markets very quickly and ended up setting up with 3PLs in each region for solutions that could handle our B2B partners in the region as well as DTC. But a lot of times, 3PLs are really great at one, but not at the other.
We toyed around with different 3PLs, but given our heavy liquid glass bottles, we needed a partner that could get our products to the customer’s doorstep in one piece and at a reasonable cost, so we decided to see if a better service was out there.
At the same time, we were re-platforming to Shopify Plus, all right before Q4. Having a different 3PL in each region (the US, EU, UK, and Australia) not only meant managing 4 different partners; it also meant we had different API integrations and technologies to log in to, inventory flow settings, and processes to follow.
When we found ShipBob, we loved the simplicity of the setup. We knew we could not only integrate our entire tech stack ourselves, but that managing it all daily would be easy – even without a big tech team behind us internally.
“For the easiest-to-manage tech stack, we brought on the dream team of ecomm apps – ShipBob, Shopify Plus, Klaviyo, TripleWhale, Gorgias, Yotpo, etc. – as this winning combination of technologies in each category talk to each other beautifully.”
– Danica Quilty, Ecommerce Director of Lyres
Seeing that ShipBob was able to integrate so neatly with Shopify Plus, Klaviyo, TripleWhale, Gorgias, and others, and pass critical information to every other software made so much sense, as we could go into one portal and get a holistic view of our operations. This was so important for the efficiency of our small team.
That, in addition to ShipBob’s pricing (which uses a simplified structure so I know exactly how costs will look on a P&L), made partnering with them the obvious choice.
Thinking back, I barely remember our ShipBob onboarding because it was so quick and easy. We were also doing a platform migration at the same time, for all regions, and it was also pre-Q4! With that deadline, it had to happen quickly, and ShipBob made sure it happened for us without any hiccups.
Viewing real-time inventory data from a single view, globally, and optimizing shipping heavy, fragile beverages
We currently use ShipBob’s fulfillment centers in 3 regions of the US, as well as in the UK and Australia (in Melbourne). Viewing our lots and tracking expiration dates for all locations from the ShipBob dashboard makes managing a beverage brand easy.
We recently joined all of our ShipBob accounts together, so now we can toggle between our Australia, US, and UK dashboards, which lets us see everything so clearly. There are even data visualizations that show where in the US we’re shipping to, with the ability to toggle additional regions on or off.
Being able to present this to our CEO makes geographic distribution straightforward, and we don’t need to use a bunch of spreadsheets to understand the impact on transit times, costs, and shipping zones.
“Since partnering with ShipBob, we’ve been able to cut our shipments that are damaged in transit in half, our fulfillment fees have gone down in all countries, and most of our US customers can get their parcels in 2 days or less, even with standard delivery.”
– Danica Quilty, Ecommerce Director of Lyres

We’re about to bring on a fourth US fulfillment center with ShipBob, so even more of our customers can get their orders even quicker. ShipBob’s Inventory Placement Program (IPP) greatly simplifies both distribution and replenishment.
With ShipBob, we can get a really clear picture of where our stock is moving and the sales velocity of our products by region, which is especially helpful when we’re preparing to reorder stock. This level of analytics is hugely important to have, giving us so much data to support decision-making.
In the past, we would have had to look at external sources and then bring that data back to other platforms, so having it all together from ShipBob gives us an added efficiency that is very informative.
Plus, ShipBob makes it super easy to submit claims if there are any issues with the carriers, without us having to do the heavy lifting.
With our prior fulfillment partner, there was no one we could talk to directly – so when we wanted to achieve packaging optimization, it was challenging and expensive.
Now with ShipBob, we use custom shippers, kitting, and rules to ship every order with the best-sized packaging each time. We can use a mix of our packaging and theirs for a secure, cost-effective packaging solution for fragile items, without sending anyone a box full of plastic. Because we’re able to work closer with ShipBob, we’re able to have strategic conversations like this, that we could never have had before.
What’s next for Lyres

We’re about to start leveraging ShipBob’s Fulfilled by Amazon (FBA) integration in the US. Fulfilled by Merchant (FBM) through ShipBob has also been a game-changer for us in the UK.
Additionally, we’re looking at leveraging ShipBob for additional marketplaces like Target Plus, Walmart, and others.
Basically, anything that’s available to us, we want to do to continue growing both the DTC and wholesale sides of the business.
“I’m really proud of the last 12 months – that’s how long we’ve been with Shopify Plus and ShipBob. The impact these two technologies have made to our business unit and the profitability of the company has been huge.”
– Danica Quilty, Ecommerce Director of Lyres
The value of our partnership with ShipBob has driven growth globally and helped us have a bigger dominance as we expand our ecommerce footprint. We’ll continue to have really intense growth, dominating a lot of countries, and we’re so glad to have partners like ShipBob by our side.
