While preparing a QuickBooks Online (QBO) file for copy, there are specific reports you should run whether you are using Rewind QBO file copy or doing it manually. It is always good to have a file for a certain point in time whenever you are doing anything to a file.

In this guide, learn how to:

  • Quickly export reports.
  • Find reports you should export.

Exporting Reports

You can quickly export some of the basic reports by clicking the “Gear” icon and then going to “Export Data.”

These reports will be exported for that chosen moment in time. Export them to Excel and store these files in an easily accessible location because you will need to upload them later. For anything else, click “Reports” and find the files one at a time.

“Profit and Loss” will be easy to find. However, you should look for any of the other reports and export them as well. Export the final reconciliation reports. Also export the reports for accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll. Use the search bar, which has a predictive type, to find the reports you need.
