How to Increase Instagram Engagement
Here are a few a ways which can help you to increase Instagram engagement for your Shopify store:
- Using the right hashtags
- Post when most of the users are online
- Be creative with photo filters
- Join an Instagram pod
- Avoid using 3rd party bots
Be selective with Instagram hashtags
As a Shopify store owner, you'll have to consistently upload pictures of your products but also lifestyle images that would resonate with your target audience. Posting new pictures will definitely engage your current followers and will bring more followers. However, it is essential to use the correct hashtags for your post because hashtags can make it easier for people to search anything with the use of a specific term. Be warned though, Instagram has banned many hashtags, so it is recommended to check the ban list before adding a hashtag to a post.

Be creative with your photo filters
It's a good practice to add photo filters to your pictures because it can enhance the visual appeal which can result in more likes and engagement. If you haven't tried photo filters, give it a whirl. Why not test the same image with and without a filter – a few days apart of course 😉 and see what one is most successful. Share your results in the comments below!
Post at the right time
The right time to make a post is when most of your potential target audience is active because it will lead towards more likes, comments, and more people will be able to see your post. When you post at the optimal time you will receive a higher probability of discovery thus increasing the engagement for your Shopify store. Join an Instagram Pod
An Instagram Pod is a group of active members who share your post with each other and then like and comment on your post. The post impression then increases which result in higher engagement. Get the insider secrets on how to get involved with an Instagram pod.
Avoid using 3rd party bots
I recommend that you do not use any third party bots on your Instagram account. The main reason is it's against Instagram's terms of services and could negatively impact your posts. Learn more about the Instagram Shadowban here.
Your Instagram engagement might be decreasing or has not performed the way you would have hoped but if you follow these strategies and tactics there is a greater probability of increased engagement with more likes, comments, bio link clicks, and most importantly a boost in sales for your Shopify store.
