We’re not going to bore you with another article reminding you of how much of an “unprecedented” year it’s been. This round-up is all about reflecting and celebrating the achievements we’ve made in the last 12 months. And it’s all thanks to you, dear reader.
Despite our London home being locked down since March – and all of us making our actual homes into offices – LoyaltyLion has gone from strength to strength. We’ve become a 50+ employee company, got a new COO, not to mention the new awards we got under our belt.
And in a year where banana bread baking thrived and we felt disconnected from our teams, LoyaltyLion still worked hard to bring you top-quality content. Each piece kept you in the loop on everything ecommerce and retention – vital in a year where acquisition got tougher and ecommerce reached new peaks.
Keep reading as we shine the light on all the 2020 highlights you may have missed.
🦁 Company highlights
2020 was a big year for LoyaltyLion.
First off, we were welcomed as a Shopify Plus Certified App Partner alongside 53 other leading ecommerce apps. We also nabbed spots in a few ecommerce awards. Including:
- A space in RWRC’s Discovery 50 – a ranking of the top global retail tech start-ups
- The award for the Best Ecommerce Platform in the Northern Ecommerce Awards
- A place in Deloitte’s UK Technology Fast 50 Awards for 2020
- And 7th place in BusinessCloud’s 100 Ecommerce Trailblazers list
On top of the award cabinet filling up, our team also grew. We hired 18 new employees across Sales, Customer Success, and Partnerships, all to better serve ecommerce marketers and our partners. We now have 9,000 thriving brands using LoyaltyLion. And, there are 18 million program members across the world earning points and rewards through our loyalty programs.

🤖 New features and integrations
We’re always on the lookout for ways to improve LoyaltyLion and 2020 was no exception.
We launched eight new integrations, all to help merchants better use our platform to create top-quality customer experiences. They were:

When it came to big feature updates, two highlights are:
Cross-store Rewards: To help you manage multiple stores, we launched Cross-store Rewards. With it, customers can earn points in one of your Shopify stores and claim them in another.
The benefit? More traffic and more high-intent customers engaging across your brands. Read more about the feature here.

API update: Back in September, we launched a new API update to LoyaltyLion because your data is important to us. This change means you can now collect more information on how customers’ points have changed over time – and deduce the reasons why. Find out more here.
