Ecommerce Data Loss & Its Business Impact 

The amount of work that goes into building a store is extensive. It can take weeks to build and months to fine-tune it. Think of all the sections involved; themes, customer orders, inventory, menu navigation and product pages. Some stores have thousands of skus. This means thousands more photos and product descriptions. 

What would happen if it all disappeared in a heartbeat? The 2020 Ecommerce Data Protection Report has shown that 1 in 4 stores have or will face some type of data disaster. Certainly there would be an impact on an ecommerce store’s day-to-day?

 We surveyed nearly 300 ecommerce stores about what would happen if they lost vital ecommerce data in their business. 19% said there would be a total collapse of the business. But that’s just the start of the story. This infographic breaks down why data loss has an instant impact on sales and operations.
